Sunshine Pop Collection - Now Playing At The Sunshine Lounge
Now Playing At The Sunshine Lounge - Various Artists - At times, kind-a loungey, here and there sort-a jazzy and at all times Sunshiney. We guarantee even soft core Sunshine fans will not be disappointed. This collection could be called a delightful romp. We start with a Bossa Nova vibe that includes a few kiddie pop tunes by way of The Halfbreeds, Gary & The Hornets and French singing teen family act Les Surfs. This is followed by Shirley & Johnny's Gli Occhi Miei, a version of the original Italian song that was transformed into Help Yourself by Tom Jones. A sort of Sunshine Muzak section is followed by a 7 song 'vocal instrumental' section with enough ba-dah's, doo-doo's and la-la's to fill several collections finally ending that section with a complete instrumental compliments of The Arrangement. We segue from there into the jazzy zone and more Bossa nova. The bottom line of this collection is that you could imagine going down to the Red Velvet Lounge at the Bowl-a-Rama (in 1970 or so) and not being surprised to hear any of these selections, live. Other artists include The Pussyfoot, Julie Budd, Procession, Harper & Rowe, The Pleasure Fair, The Family Album, Serendipity Singers and B. J. Baker. Producers, writers and arrangers include Harley Hatcher, Lee Holdrdge, Neil Diamond, David Gates, Barry & Greenwich, Tony Hatch and Felton Jarvis. A goodly 32 tracks all beautifully audio cleaned.
