Roy scored 13 top forty Lps while at Dot and garnered entertainer of the year for his recording efforts and appearances on Hee Haw. Roy also was in the rotation to fill in for Johnny Carson during the early 70's. Roy's music was always a little to sappy countrypolitan for me with the exception of I Never Picked Cotton and Thank God & Greyhound but his albums sold well throughout the decade. Roy is without question one of the greatest super pickers ever and could handle a Gibson custom like nobody's business. Roy is still performing mostly in Branson.
