Motown Sings Smokey MP3/Flac

VA - Motown Sings Smokey

Motown sings the music of Smokey Robinson. A pretty easy thing to do, given that Smokey was such a big influence on the rest of the label during the 60s! Alongside his key work with The Miracles, Robinson was also a songwriter whose tunes were picked up by many other Motown acts -- done in their own styles away from Smokey, and presented here in a great overview of Robinson-penned numbers for the label. You can definitely hear that sweet-stepping Smokey-styled groove on most cuts here. Titles include My Baby Must Be A Magician and The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game by The Marvelettes, You've Really Got A Hold On Me and Since I Lost My Baby by The Temptations, My Guy and You Beat Me The Punch by Mary Wells, Don't Mess With Bill by The Marvelettes, First I Look At The Purse by The Contours, Who's Lovin You by The Jackson Five, and When I'm Gone by Brenda Holloway.
