Bobby Was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky 1946. When he was 9, his brother Jack taught him some chords on a borrowed guitar. Bobby's father made a promise that if he could learn well enough he would buy the lad one of his own. Soon his dad was out a new guitar. Bobby played every place he could and soon was entering and winning amateur contests. Bobby began working the local radio stations and playing publicly. At age 13, Bobby joined Hi Varieties WHAS-TV teenage show, in Louisville, Kentucky. Bobby became a regular on the show and then joined The Old Kentucky Barn Dance on WHAS radio, and then moved to the CBS Network's Saturday Night Country Style program. He began hosting a weekly show on WHAS-TV called the Hayloft Hoedown. He toured Canada, performed at USO shows and appeared on the BBC network. Bobby has written several hundred songs throughout the years and hosted The Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree on WSM. Bobby had a lot of support from the Nashville establishment particularly Ernest Tubb but he never really caught fire having only a few mid charting Lp's and and singles.
