One of the lesser known PSB singles, “DJ Culture” is a low key, but characteristically great single. Bordering on self-parody with a spoken vocal, trademark orchestral stabs, sparkling string pads and twinkling piano. This maxi CD contains an extended mix, but not the Grid remix. The b side track is "Music For Boys". Of course it is.
According to Tennant, the song concerned the insincerity of how President George H. W. Bush’s speeches at the time of the First Gulf War utilised Winston Churchill’s wartime rhetoric, in a manner similar to how artists sample music from other artists.
Bush Junior would also provide the inspiration for another PSB song at the time of the Second Gulf War (”I’m With Stupid”).
